The first of its kind in Pennsylvania to focus on the status of women statewide, the Center prepares women to enter the political pipeline to holding elected office and conducts and disseminates research on the ways in which women affect and are affected by public policy in an effort to monitor, measure, and advocate for change.
The Center cultivates public leadership and civic engagement skills in women of all ages and backgrounds, through a variety of training opportunities including Ready to Run tm Pennsylvania, Ready to be Heard Advocacy Training, and the National Education for Women’s (NEW) Leadership program.
Through the Winning Edge Campaign School and membership in the Ready to Run Training Network of the Center for American Women and Politics, the Center offers a 3-day immersion into the world of campaign strategy and messaging. Those interested in refining and raising their voices on behalf of their business or political/community passions, attend the one-day advocacy training program Ready to Be Heard. And female college students from across the Commonwealth gather annually for the National Education for Women’s (NEW) Leadership program to learn about public policy and find their place in the political system. The Center offers something for everybody and is always open to new ideas!
