The Center and Chatham University are a part of the Ready to Run Training Network! The Center has a long history of offering well-respected, intensive candidate trainings for women. Our most recent Winning Edge Campaign School was held January 25-27, 2008 at Chatham University in partnership with the bi-partisan Pennsylvania Women’s Campaign Fund. A comprehensive three-day training and campaign simulation with national trainers, the program was the model for a spin-off school at Franklin & Marshall University as well as the catalyst for participant and Chatham alumna, Lisa Bennington’s, successful campaign for State House of Representatives. The strength of this program also served as the foundation of the Center’s acceptance by the Center for American Women in Politics (CAWP) to become part of the new national Ready to Run Training Network. The role-playing case study, outreach to other organizations, and developed partnership were cited by CAWP as important factors in selecting the program for a supporting grant.
